Once you have everything all set to go with your stage, you can upload it to the server and select whether its for Single Player, Co-Op, Teams, Deathmatch, Competitive, or Demon Players. SnapMap initially started out with only 'Industrial' or 'UAC' modules and gameplay similar to the campaign and multiplayer modes, but has been upgraded to include 'Hell' and 'Classic' modules, as well as various features from the campaign mode, including the weapon wheel and the ability to create a chronological level list. There are five basic tools in the Doom menu that youll use, the first being Publish. Users can then place objects, logic and demons in those rooms to create their own maps. Unlike the previous games, users are not able to create their own maps from scratch, instead choosing from a selection of pre-fabricated rooms to 'snap' together. It is an in-engine map editor available with all versions of the game except Nintendo Switch, with maps created through SnapMap available for download on any platform. Most missions were interconnected with each other, housing secrets and hidden items for players to find.
